Managing Cards, Magically

I have a problem. I play Magic: The Gathering.

Well, that itself is not the problem, but organizing my collection is. You see, I’d like to have an overview of all the cards that I own, in case I want to build decks or trade. But creating that overview is very time intensive. Manually entering all card titles and metadata would leave me little room in my free time.

So, like many a developer before me, I thought: “There has to be a way to automate this”.

In this talk we dip into the world of OCR and the difficulties that I encountered in building my very own Magic Card Manager.
