At Amperebezorgt we used cloud firestore as database for one of the application. I would like to share my experience with setting up firestore with emulators for developing springboot application.
Talk will be about:
- What is firestore, why was it created, features etc
- little intro about NoSql databases: key-value, column based, document, graph
- setting up firestore in google cloud
- intro about gcloud emulators
- setting up firestore emulator in local using google sdk and docker
- demo springboot application accessing firestore emulator database
